Shamus Awards – 2015

Bouchercon, the largest international mystery lovers convention, is held in October each year and is a natural platform for several writing awards. In addition to the Anthony and Macavity Awards for excellence in mysteries, the PWA’s Shamus Awards are given for deserving Private Eye titles published in 2014.

 

The PWA, the Private Eye Writers of America, focuses on Private Eye fiction alone. The group’s definition of a Private Eye: a person paid to investigate crimes who is not employed by a government agency.

 

This year’s finalists and winners are:

“Hounded” – David Rosenfelt  received the award

BEST FIRST P.I. NOVEL
Invisible City – Julia Dahl  received the award
“Bad Country” – C.B. McKenzie
“Last of the Independents” – Sam Wiebe
“Wink of an Eye” – Lynn Chandler Willis
“City of Brick and Shadow” by Tim Wirkus

 

BEST ORIGINAL PAPERBACK P.I. NOVEL
“The Detective and the Pipe Girl” – Michael Craven
“Beauty with a Bomb” – M.C. Grant
“Critical Damage” – Robert K. Lewis
“Street Justice” – Kris Nelscott
“Moonlight Weeps” – Vincent Zandri  received the award
